And so it is only fitting, that when the news of the day is not good, when it steals our breath like a dimming force - that we issue a call to the circle, that we return to the space that holds, heals and helps - and that we use that space as a tool to change the world

Mission Statement

The mission of the Center for Women’s Philanthropy is to promote catalytic philanthropy. Through our Women’s Fund we will examinelong-standing social problems from a woman’s perspective and infuse money and entrepreneurialism into new solutions.

Goal

The CFWP will make strategic, research-based grants that:

  • Facilitate systemic change to improve the lives of women and girls ;
  • Apply creative solutions to critical needs; and,
  • Produce lasting and measurable impact on the lives of women and girls.

CFWP seeks to achieve lasting results to improve the lives of women and girls. This requires careful study, evaluation and a willingness to provide ongoing support, when appropriate.

The Center For Women’s Philanthropy is not afraid of a well-calculated risk. CFWP is willing to be a venture capitalist, fund new activities that hold promise for women and girls and provide multi-year support as programs grow through start-up into sustainability.

Process

Guided by CFWP Affinity Groups that are organized by issue/topic, CFWP members will conduct research aimed at providing data for effective solution and funding brainstorming. Possible Affinity Groups may include Economic Empowerment, Health & Wellness, Violence & Crime among others.
